About this program
On August 26, 2026, a catastrophic flash flood—linked to a suspected glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) from Tibet—swept through the Bhotekoshi River corridor in Rasuwa district. Settlements in Timure and Syabrubesi were devastated, with damage to hydropower projects, markets, and critical infrastructure. With at least 160 lives lost and hundreds missing, Basecamp Charity is mobilizing emergency shelter, food, medical aid, and long-term reconstruction support for affected families.
